Each year, the Posse rides more than 200 miles on horseback from Holbrook to Scottsdale, carrying on the historic Pony Express tradition while raising funds for critical Search and Rescue operations across Navajo County. Every mile ridden helps protect and serve our community.

Made up of dedicated local volunteers, the Posse serves alongside the Sheriff’s Office to strengthen safety and community across Navajo County.

Collect the letters or cards you would like carried and stamped on the ride.
Seal everything you are sending inside one large manila envelope.
Mail the envelope to us through the postal service, or leave it at a local drop-off spot.
We open your envelope and carry your mail on the Pony Express Ride, where it earns our commemorative stamp.

The Navajo County Sheriff’s Posse is made up of dedicated volunteers who give their time and skills to support public safety throughout the county. With deep roots in Western heritage, the Posse stands ready to assist the Sheriff’s Office and serve the community whenever needed.
Service is not limited to a single ride or event. It is an ongoing responsibility carried by volunteers who believe in protecting their neighbors and preserving the values that define our region.
